Isla Fisher wrote two teen novels when she was just a teen herself(18 to be exact.) I recently found "Seduced by Fame" at a yard sale near my apartment. I read, um, most of it. Some of it? Ok, a few pages. Still, here is my review:
First of all I must say I am very proud of her for writing entire books when she was that young. When I was 18 I think I just masturbated a lot, ate cheeseburgers and watched a crappy VHS copy of "Forrest Gump" over and over. Never at the same time sickos. Lt. Dan was cool but not
that cool. Anyway, this book is more or less a how-to for girls to get over social anxiety disorder and realize that being famous and hot isn't everything. The narrative involves a young girl realizing her dream of becoming an actress and then discovering it aint all sunshine and roses. Well I haven't gotten to that part yet but thats what the back of the book says. Frankly, I want the fully grown Isla to pen a sequel. I'd like to see her take on beauty and fame now that she is, well, beautiful and famous.
So far, I guess it's a page turner(I've turned about seven.) If you are a sicko and have an Isla Fisher shrine in your bedroom, then this would make a pretty good addition. Otherwise, wait for the new Harry Potter.
